Consultation & Planning
Dr. Greenlee will assess your tooth, take digital scans, and discuss your goals. You’ll choose the ideal shade and material together, and she’ll explain clearly what the preparation will involve and what your final crown will look and feel like. If you’re a candidate for same-day CEREC, she’ll let you know at this stage.
Tooth Preparation
A small amount of enamel is removed from the outside of the tooth to create space for the crown to fit properly without sitting higher than surrounding teeth. Local anesthesia is used throughout so you stay comfortable. For traditional crowns, a temporary crown is placed to protect the tooth while your permanent one is fabricated at the lab. For CEREC same-day crowns, we move directly to design and milling — no temporary needed.
Crown Placement
Once your final crown is ready — same day with CEREC, or at a second appointment for lab-fabricated crowns — Dr. Greenlee checks the fit and bite carefully before bonding it permanently into place.
